This coming Saturday 10 January will see the second running of the Holden Vs Ford Test Match at Fire-Service Plus Nowra Speedway.
A slightly changed format this year see's the teams expanded to six a side with a reserve.The Holden team being all Sydney Club drivers are as follows: Allan Marskel, Chris Sims, Shannon Gallagher, Shane Duggan, Nigel O Neill, Keith Sims and reserve Danny Sims. All in Commodore's
The Ford team being from Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Moruya and Wollongong Club drivers. The team is: Kevin Sherwood, Bob Hamilton, Brad Bassett, Freddy Murphy, Wayne Healy, Gary Smith and reserve Lennie Davis. All are in Falcons except for the nimble Ford Laser of Wayne Healy.
13 x 4 car x 4 lap heat races and a 10 lap all in final will decide the outcome with the Holden Team keen to avenge thier controversial 1 point loss last year.
Teams racing was formulated in the 70's with the Australia Vs USA Test Matches held at venues such as Liverpool Raceway. The format is entertaining and gives the fans an interesting change from the normal race formats. In 2009 it translates well to the old Ford Vs Holden rivalry.
So all there is left to say is "BE THERE"
