Holden Team takes Modified Sedan Test Match
The Holden Team of Sydney drivers Chris Sims, Allan Marskel, Shane Duggan, Nigel O Neill, Keith Sims, Shannon Gallagher and Danny Sims were successful in winning the second annual Ford Vs Holden Test Match on Saturday January 10 at Fire-Service Plus Nowra Speedway with a dominant 82-47 scoreline.
The Holden Team came back from a deficit of 4 points after round 1 of heats and a 2 point deficit after round 2 of heats to take the lead after roud three of heats by 4points. From there they dominated the all in 10 lap final taking the top six positions after the Ford team fell by the wayside after a big roll over from the fast little Ford Laser of Wayne Healy. With a half loose by the No.1 of Kevin Sherwood and complete spin by Brad Bassett the Holden team took a convining victory.
The Holden team also wished to thank Shane Murphy for assisting the team when 3 of there cars were having trouble due to the long spell without race meetings due to rain outs.
The Ford Team wishes to thank Newcastle's Gary Smith, Canberra's Freddy Murphy and Moruya's Wayne Healy for travelling to Nowra to compete for the team.
